A ruling made by France’s competition authority against Google may have a sweeping effect on how the tech behemoth does business elsewhere.
In response to a complaint filed last fall by unions representing French press publishers in October, the Autorité de la Concurrence ruled earlier this month that Google must pay publishers and news outlets for reusing their content.
