President Donald Trump's call for a "Golden Dome," signed in an executive order in January, was modeled on Israel's "Iron Dome" missile-defense infrastructure.
The plan calls for multiple layers of defense, including space-based defenses against hypersonic missiles, ballistic missiles, ground-based hypersonic and ballistic missile defenses, and tactical pieces of the puzzle focused on protecting vital infrastructure.
