Donald Trump "basically won the nomination" for Republican president Tuesday by taking the Indiana primary — but it was "insane" for him to attack Ted Cruz's father, political analyst Dick Morris told

"I can't understand why Trump would do this," Morris told host Steve Malzberg on "America Votes: 2016" in an interview. "Why would he deliberately split the party, alienate the guy who's endorsement he needs above all by hitting his father?
