Donald Trump needs to be more consistent and stay on the issues if he wants to become president, political commentator Michael Reagan told Newsmax TV.
The Republican presidential nominee should work on his messaging, Reagan told "Newsmax Prime."
"Instead of covering it like it should be covered, instead of giving a speech on illegal immigration and the numbers you just were talking about, he says something about illegal immigration for a second and a half and he goes on about something else," Reagan told host J.D. Hayworth on Monday.
"He doesn't give a consistent message on one issue. There's a million issues he's talking about, he needs to be talking about one issue and get that issue right."

Reagan has railed against Trump but ultimately decided to endorse the "embarrassing" GOP candidate because he is a better choice than Democrat Hillary Clinton.
"I'm not going to choose evil over embarrassment," Reagan told Newsmax. "I'll choose embarrassment over evil at this point in time, and I'm saddened that Trump is running the campaign that in fact he is running."
