Political commentator Michael Reagan was "embarrassed" by Donald Trump's meeting with women who had accused President Bill Clinton of sexual indiscretions, Reagan told Newsmax TV.

"The day started as a train wreck, him having a press conference on Facebook with [Juanita] Broaddrick and the rest of them, all the women from the days of Bill Clinton," Reagan told host J.D. Hayworth on Sunday's "Newsmax TV Post-Debate Special."

"That isn’t an issue in this campaign, at this point in time," he added. "To make it an issue, it was really going off-base and off track. I was embarrassed by it.

"I said in a tweet that my father would be embarrassed by it, and he would probably tell people to vote the down-ballot to save our country and, in fact, save the Republican Party."
