Many of the arguments against President-elect Donald Trump's intention to improve Obamacare have already been debunked by Trump and his team, former New York Lieutenant Gov. Betsy McCaughey told Newsmax TV.
During an appearance on "Newsmax Prime," McCaughey told host J.D. Hayworth Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress have good intentions.
"Donald Trump has said several times, including to Dana Bash at CNN way back in February, that people with preexisting conditions would be protected under a new plan, so there's nothing new about that," said McCaughey, a healthcare policy expert.

"And parents would be able to keep children on their plans until age 26. And let me underscore one more thing that will remain relatively constant, and that is Medicaid, where most uninsured people are now getting covered, that's also going to continue.
"So three of the major concerns that are repeatedly voiced by people who are opposing repeal in fact are already taken care of in whatever plan is put forward in January."
McCaughey was asked if she is under consideration to serve at the Department of Health and Human Services in the Trump administration, given her healthcare policy knowledge.
"I certainly haven't but I would of course be honored to serve this president and our country in any capacity," she said.
