A new analysis shows that President Donald Trump's approval rating is mostly dependent on Americans' political parties.

Gallup examined the numbers and found that within groups of Republicans, Democrats, and independents, Trump's approval rating among subgroups broken up into demographics such as age, gender, race, and education is around the same.

For example, Trump's approval, according to Gallup, is 41 percent. Republicans gave him an 89 percent approval rating, which can be broken down further:

  • 89 percent of men and 90 percent of women approve of the job he's doing.
  • Age group-wise, 81 percent of the 18-29 demographic, 89 percent of the 30-49 demographic, 92 percent of the 50-64 demographic, and 90 percent of the 65+ demographic approve of Trump.
  • College graduates (85 percent) and non-graduates (91 percent) approve of Trump.
  • Other sub-groups of Republicans, such as geographic location, marital status, and income, all have similar numbers.

Among Democrats, Trump has a 5 percent approval rating. This can be further broken down to:

  • 9 percent of men and 3 percent of women.
  • The four aforementioned age groups are all at 5 percent, with the exception of 65+ (6 percent).
  • College graduates (4 percent) and non-graduates (6 percent) are nearly the same.
  • Whites (6 percent) and non-whites (4 percent) approve of Trump's job performance.

Other factors such as geographic location, marital status, and income are all similar.

"These patterns suggest that the GOP is now defined by President Trump," the Gallup analysis reads. "But it is not clear if certain subgroups such as non-college whites have become Republican because of their affinity for Trump, or if it comes from a longer-standing loyalty to the GOP and those subgroups have come to embrace Trump as the leader of the party."
