The Horwitz-Wasserman Holocaust Memorial Plaza in Philadelphia, located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, was recently defaced in an act of vandalism, a spokesperson for the memorial told CBS News.
Captured on surveillance, the perpetrator, donning a black mask and a dark jacket, was seen spray-painting the symbol of hate on the memorial's wall.
Eszter Kutas, the executive director of the Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation, stated, "This is a reminder for our public that antisemitism is real in our communities. We need the public's help in making sure these incidents are lessening in our communities."
Established in 1964, the Horwitz-Wasserman Holocaust Memorial Plaza stands as Philadelphia's only significant public monument dedicated to the remembrance of the Holocaust.
