British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in his closing speech at the Conservative Party Conference on Wednesday said Britons "shouldn't get bullied into believing people can be any sex they want to be."
"They can't. A man is a man, and a woman is a woman, that's just common sense," Sunak said.
He also suggested there shouldn't be any controversy for parents to "know what their children are being taught in school about relationships.
"Patients should know when hospitals are talking about men or women," he added.
Sunak's government is considering a host of controversial policies regarding transgender rights.
He has voiced his complaints in the past concerning transgender issues, including in February when he stated that biological sex "really matters."
In response to Piers Morgan's questions about transgender athletes competing in women's sports, Sunak said: "Well, I think that doesn't strike most people as being fair, right? So that's why when it comes to these questions, biological sex matters."
