Morning Consult Poll: Trump Holds Razor-Slim Lead Over Biden

Former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden by 1 point in a new Morning Consult poll.

And Trump leads his closest GOP rival for the Republican presidential nomination by a whopping 55 percentage points.

Here are how the poll results break down:

• 42% say they support Trump, compared to 41% who back Biden.
• 66% say they favor Trump over his Republican primary rivals.
• 11% say they support Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
• 11% say they back Nikki Haley, the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
• 6% say they favor entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
• 4% say the back former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
• No other person received at least 5%.
• 75% say the economy is the top issue.
• 70% say healthcare is the No. 1 issue.
• 68% say national security is the top issue.

The survey, conducted Dec. 28-30, polled 1,992 voters. It has an unweighted margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
