A 29-year-old Jacksonville, Florida, sheriff's deputy is not expected to survive a traffic stop shooting, according to reports.
Deputy Joshua Moyers, 29, was shot in the face Friday morning after pulling over Patrick McDowell, 35.
Doctors have determined "there was just nothing they could do for Josh," who will be kept alive until donors are found for his organs, according to Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper, the New York Post reported.
McDowell, reportedly a former U.S. Marine, was driving a stolen vehicle and remains at large, armed and dangerous, with hundreds of cops involved in the manhunt, the Florida Times-Union reported.
"This guy is dangerous," Leeper told the paper. "If you're in a home and he breaks into your home and you have a gun, blow him out the door, because he's like a rabid animal.
"He will kill you with his mindset. What he did to that deputy, was uncalled for, unnecessary and he needs to pay for it."
