President Joe Biden has abandoned the American people–and not just in Afghanistan.

A shocking and extensive new poll from Convention of States Action and the Trafalgar Group proves that on issue after issue, Biden has kowtowed to the radical wing of his party and ignored the opinions of everyday Americans.

From policing to the border to China to the environment, Biden and the Democrats have taken positions contrary to that of the majority of the American people.

For example, according to this new polling, 80.1% of American voters believe that police departments should be fully funded, prosecutors should be tough on crime, and officers who abuse their power should be properly disciplined.

That may not seem like a controversial position — unless you live in the Democrat/D.C. bubble.

Biden and allies like Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., have been running away from "defund the police" as fast as they can, but their party isn't getting the message. Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., vowed recently to continue using the phrase, highlighting deep and ongoing divides in the party.

"'Defund the police' is not the problem," she said. "We dangled the carrot in front of people's faces and said we can get it done and that Democrats deliver, when we haven't totally delivered."

And despite the Democrats' attempts to gaslight the American people, no one will forget how Biden and his allies cheered in the summer of 2020 as major American cities burned. Democrats may reject "defund the police" in the lead-up to the midterms, but you can bet they'll start beating that drum again soon.

Biden is also out of touch when it comes to the southern border. According to the poll, 67.3% of Americans believe that the southern border should be secured and illegal border crossers returned to their country of origin.

Meanwhile, a record number of illegal immigrants (1.7 million) have been apprehended trying to cross the border with Biden in charge. Countless others have made it into our country illegally.

The federal response has been so bad that states have had to step up to protect their citizens, and White House press secretary Jen Psaki recently admitted that illegal immigrants are being shipped to states across the country.

Biden cares so little about the border crisis that he put Kamala Harris in charge of fixing it. That's like claiming to care about human rights abuses and putting Xi Jinping in charge of the UN Human Rights Council.

Speaking of China, Biden has also departed from everyday Americans with his soft-on-China rhetoric. Nearly 70% percent of Americans believe that growing aggression from China is a threat to America, and 56.3% believe fentanyl coming across the southern border from China is the leading contributor to overdose deaths in America.

Despite these opinions, the commander in chief has refused to refer to China as an "adversary" or "enemy," opting instead for the euphemistic "competitor." In his first meeting with Chinese counterparts, Biden's Secretary of State Antony Blinken acknowledged that "we're not perfect" when Chinese officials attacked America's record "regarding human rights."

Instead of boldly defending the United States as a beacon of freedom and hope in the world — especially when compared to the tyranny in China — Blinken cowered before China's libelous attacks on the United States.

And while one of Biden's first acts as president was to kill the Keystone XL pipeline, 62.8% of voters believe that America can further develop natural gas and oil production without putting the environment at risk. That number will likely go even higher as more Americans realize that being energy-dependent means they pay more at the pump when global crises strike.

Even bigger than the energy crisis though is Americans' skepticism that President Biden is up to the task of fixing our economy — 54.2% believe that Biden's policies to fix inflation will hurt America's economic recovery.

On issue after issue, Biden and his party have abandoned everyday Americans and violated their trust.

Now, these men and women are expecting Republicans to fix Biden's mess.

According to the same poll, over 80% of American voters, whether they are planning to vote Republican or Democrat, believe if the GOP wins control of Congress in the midterm elections, they will block or undo Biden's policies and agendas.

The people are expecting real results, not just fiery speeches and spirited opposition that make nice headlines. In other words, it's time for the Republicans to step up. Over a year of polling research, historic wins in elections like Virginia's gubernatorial race, combined with a wave of victories in congressional races later this year, will provide Republicans an undeniable mandate to erase Biden's legacy.

They can't ignore this duty as they did during the first two years of Trump's presidency, or their hollow posturing against Obamacare. If Republicans retake control of Washington, Americans will expect them to restore law and order, secure the border, fix the economy, and put China back in its place. Anything less will be a betrayal of the American people, and the American people will not soon forgive Republicans for that betrayal.
