A day after Hamas's surprise attack on Israel, hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators descended on New York's Times Square for an "All Out for Palestine" rally, which was held this past Sunday.

The event was organized by the New York City (NYC) Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the group's most significant chapter.

The gathering featured marchers glorifying the terrorist organization's slaughter of Jews, with some participants calling for eliminating the Jewish state.

While several attendees were captured sharing images of swastikas on their devices, others stomped and set fire to an Israeli flag.

It bears mentioning that Sunday's New York City rally marked the largest, but not the sole, DSA event professing support for Hamas's brutality. Other equally disturbing rallies took place in areas nationwide, including Tampa and Los Angeles.

With years of sheepish liberal reactions to Democrats' anti-Israel flank now culminating in Hamas supporters spilling onto city streets, several Democrats released statements condemning the planned pro-terror rally.

New York State Democratic Committee Chair Jay Jacobs denounced New York City-DSA for its role in attempting to" justify the wholly unjustifiable acts of wonton violence."

House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., (of Brooklyn) called out the "hate-filled rally," with Senate Majority Leader Sen. Charles "Chuck" Schumer, D-N.Y., announcing on X his disappointment in the "ill-timed and cold-hearted" DSA demonstration.

For her part, Gov. Kathy Hochul, D-N.Y., pointedly refrained from mentioning DSA's involvement when describing the planned rally as "abhorrent and morally repugnant."

The week's anti-Israel events across the U.S. underscore how time spent appeasing party progressives has captured the left's confidence and accelerated the DSA's foothold in the mainstream political space.

According to its website, DSA is the largest socialist organization in the United States.

To date, six Democrat lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives are members of the DSA. Several of "The Squad's" cohort comprise the group's membership roll, which includes Reps. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., while others, like Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., was endorsed by a local DSA chapter but does not personally "identify as a socialist."

Their relationship with the DSA confirms the institutional heft in pushing contemporary Jew-hatred, which manifests from delegitimizing and demonizing Israel.

The DSA's antisemitic leanings were apparent years ago when it provided New York City Council candidates with a survey requesting prospective lawmakers to indicate if they would refrain from traveling to Israel and asking whether they support the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which specifically targets Israel for economic warfare.

New York City's progressive orbit provides a convenient backdrop against which the DSA can recruit candidates aligning with its platform.

The implications of their influence were displayed earlier this year when six members of the New York City Council resisted supporting a non-controversial resolution introduced by GOP Councilwoman Inna Vernikov, declaring April 29 "End Jew Hatred Day."

The measure passed with four abstentions in a 41 to 2 vote.

Those who rejected the resolution include DSA member Shahana Hanif, who became the first Muslim woman elected to the council in 2021.

Among those who abstained from voting was DSA-endorsed councilwoman Alexa Aviles, who pushed back against councilman Ari Kagan this week when the Democrat-turned Republican lawmaker blasted Aviles and her DSA comrades for holding Sunday's demonstration.

Other rising stars within New York DSA-Democratic circles consist of New York City Council Comptroller Brad Lander, who, while criticizing this week's rally, praised Ben and Jerry's 2021 decision to pull its products from Judea and Samaria, and stating that "ending Israel's military occupation is a moral imperative."

Moreover, last year, The Washington Free Beacon reported on Lander hiring Naomi Dann as his chief spokeswoman despite revelations highlighting Dann's ties to activist establishments facilitating donations to Hamas and terrorist-designated organizations.

And while much of the focus is correctly placed on the six DSA-backed federal politicians, current estimates suggest that the number of city councilmen and county commissioners retaining DSA membership stands at 100, with another 50 DSA advocates listed in the State Senate and House legislative bodies.

These figures portend a disturbing trend for the party’s moderate sector.

DSA’s robust presence celebrating the massacre of Jews symbolizes years of liberal resistance in confronting the brewing antisemitism within Democratic ranks.

Democrats are operating under a dual framework of advancing damaging policies to satisfy anti-Israel progressives while relying on enough rhetorical finesse to placate Jewish liberals.

Incidentally, two years ago, House Democrats missed a chance to apply sanctions on Hamas. Rather than support a GOP amendment introduced by Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., Democrats overwhelmingly gave the Iranian-backed terrorist group a pass, blocked consideration of the legislation, and refused to allow the bill to be brought to the House floor.

To their credit, Congressman Mast, along with Rep. Josh Gottheimer, D-N.J.,  recently reintroduced the Hamas International Financing Prevention Act in the hopes of garnering bipartisan backing for the critical legislation, which passed the House of Representatives as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2023.

The bill is currently before the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Sunday's rally in Times Square should leave little doubt of the left's evil intent.

The fearlessness under which they rallied indicates Democrats helped exact the conviction required to normalize a despicable ideology.

If city scenes of people marshaling to chants of annihilating Israel fail to blunt the Democrats' leftward lurch, then expect this generation of DSA-bolstered state and local officials to rise in numbers and transform America’s political future.
