Bachmann Corrects Opponents on Overturning Obamacare

By    |   Thursday, 08 September 2011 11:47 AM EDT

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann showed at the debate Wednesday that she knows a little more than her opponents Rick Perry and Mitt Romney about how to get rid of the new healthcare law.

The Texas governor and former Massachusetts governor said they would do away with Obamacare “day one” with executive orders, Politico reports.

But the Minnesota congresswoman pointed out that a president can’t dump Obamacare with an executive order.

"With all due respect to the governors, issuing an executive order will not overturn this massive law," she said. It has to be repealed, and "the repeal bill will just not come to our desk. . . . This will take a very strong, bold leader in the presidency who will lead that effort."
