Jae-in's Appeasement Invites Aggression From NKorea

The new president of South Korea received a nasty welcome Sunday from his North Korean counterpart. Kim Jong Un’s regime fired yet another ballistic missile on a very steep trajectory — perhaps demonstrating a capability to conduct an electromagnetic pulse attack that could devastate the South with a single nuclear detonation outside the atmosphere.

This must have come as a shock to President Moon Jae-in. After all, he ran on a pledge to defuse tensions with North Korea by travelling there, and negotiating directly with its tyrant.

Such appeasement now would only invite still more aggressive behavior from Kim Jong-un.

So would Mr. Moon’s promised removal of the recently deployed U.S. THAAD anti-missile system. After all, it protects not only our South Korean allies. It is required to defend the thousands of U.S. troops there, as well.

Buck up, President Moon Jae-in.
