The Kentucky doctor dragged off a United Airlines flight has two lawyers representing him – and remained hospitalized Tuesday – in a sign he might be planning to sue the airlines, the Daily Mail reported.

Dr. David Dao issued a statement through his Chicago lawyers – one specializing in personal injury and the other a corporate attorney.

"The family of Dr. Dao wants the world to know that they are very appreciative of the outpouring of prayers, concern and support they have received," the statement from lawyer Stephen Golan related. "Currently, they are focused only on Dr. Dao's medical care and treatment."

The statement added Dao was still "undergoing treatment in a Chicago hospital for his injuries."

Cellphone footage showed a bloodied Dao, 69, being dragged by his feet down the airplane aisle after he refused to give up his seat for airline staff on Sunday's United Express flight UA3411 flight from Chicago to Louisville.

The doctor spoke briefly to WLKY and told them "everything" was injured.

Separately, a lawyer not connected with the case said if there is a lawsuit Dao wins, it could bring a big payout.

"He [Dao] will always be messed up from this. There's going to be enough money from this settlement that will enable generations of his family to be well off," New York lawyer Randy Zelin told Hollywood Life.

"I would say a fair starting number would be the millions. He's going to be very wealthy."
