Before Mitt Romney announced on Friday he wouldn't be running for president again in 2016, The Washington Post ran a
story online about the size of his California house with an accompanying graphic that allows users to input the square footage of their own domiciles for comparison.
NewsBusters, pointing out that the button to click to obtain the visual comparison reads, "OK. Humiliate Me," noted that one particular American might not be so humiliated when he makes the comparison: Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos.
Romney's La Jolla house is 11,206 square feet while Bezos' Medina, Washington, lair clocks in at 29,000 square feet and included two buildings.
Both Romney and Bezos own multiple houses, but NewsBusters notes that Bezos' Beverly Hills mansion measures 12,000 square feet — also larger than Romney's.
"So Post owner Bezos has not one but two houses bigger than Romney's. Now there's a headline you won’t see in The Washington Post," NewsBusters commented.
