A Jewish-owned business in the nation's capital claims to be on the receiving end of harassing phone calls and Internet postings by people claiming to be with the Islamic State (ISIS) terror group.
According to WJLA, which did not name the Washington, D.C. business, the harassment has been ongoing for five months.
Story continues below video.
Some of the threats are anti-Semitic, reports the TV station, and others are either racial or homophobic.
The business has been in contact with local police, which got the Department of Homeland Security involved. But the feds said the threats were not credible enough.
In one phone message, a caller threatened to hang an employee with a "gay pride flag."
Another message was more blunt: "I'm going to kill you. I'm going to murder you. This is a threat."
The business owner told WJLA that Verizon, its phone provider, said the calls are traceable but it needs permission from the police to do anything. The police, on the other hand, said they need to first hear from Verizon.
