Liberal Assault on Tea Party Pitiful

The tea party movement has always faced tough criticism. From the initial claims denying its legitimacy (charges of "manufactured outrage") to the never-ending stream of insults that has a scale that ranges from pornographic references to racists, the movement has been called every name in the book and has even been, albeit bizarrely, mocked by President Obama.

Despite the movement's growing influence, the left and the willing media that support it are still at it. This week they've decided to impugn tea partyers with a new moniker: potential future domestic terrorists.

The 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing was a timely trigger for tea party detractors to try to link the radical behavior of Timothy McVeigh to the movement's anger. But the initial comparison surfaced in August when the grass-roots gatherings started to take hold.

During an airing of "Meet the Press," David Gregory said that town hall protests against congressional healthcare legislation — protests that morphed into the tea party movement in the fall — were "synonymous" with violence against the United States government imposed by people like McVeigh.
