Late NYC Mayor Koch's Letters to be Auctioned

Monday, 25 November 2013 06:49 AM EST

Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch's letters and books are going on the auction block.

Doyle New York has estimated most of them will sell for between $200 and $500 on Monday.

Koch died in February at age 88.

The sale includes letters from President Ronald Reagan, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

Last week, the auction house sold furniture and artwork from Koch's home in Manhattan's Greenwich Village.

A set of six Frank Lloyd Wright-designed dining chairs sold for more than $11,000.

The Democrat was credited with helping to save the city from its 1970s economic crisis and leading it to financial rebirth.
