Indianapolis Police Question Man in Shooting That Hurt 7

Saturday, 05 July 2014 09:54 AM EDT

Indianapolis police say a shooting in a bar-hopping neighborhood that injured seven people may have been set off by two people bumping into each other in the street

Police Chief Rick Hite says it looked like "two guys bumped into each other and it took off from there.

Police arrested a 23-year-old man on a preliminary charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm and questioned him about the shooting. He was not charged in connection with the shooting

The shootings took place in an area that is popular for bar-hopping, and occurred about a half-hour before the bars were to close. Police say one man is in critical condition. Five other men and a woman also were shot, but do not have life-threatening injuries.
