Mich. Student Under Fire From Feminists for Satirical Article

A politically conservative Muslim is facing the wrath of feminists at the University of Michigan after writing a satirical article for a student newspaper mocking political correctness.

Omar Mahmood has refused to apologize for his piece, "Do the Left Thing," about a left-handed liberal who rails against "white privilege" on campus.

"No longer will I persevere in patience. No longer will I suffer in silence. I am a left-handed individu@l, and my humanity needs be respected!" he wrote in the conservative campus paper, The Michigan Review. "The next time someone tells you to 'Do the right thing,' turn around and flick them off with your left middle finger. Do the left thing."

Mahmood also wrote for the liberal student paper, The Michigan Daily, where a female staff writer said she was offended by the article and demanded an apology. The editors at the Daily later forced Mahmood to resign from the paper.

Last week, four women wearing hoods and baggy clothes were caught on video vandalizing his off-campus apartment.

"The whole string of events is a sorry indictment of the rampant illiberalism of the modern, "liberal" college campus, where writing something that offends someone else is considered threatening, but censorship, vandalism, and actual threats are not," wrote Robby Soave at Reason.com.
