A star-studded crowd of Hamptons millionaires expected to hear an inspirational speech by Hillary Clinton at a fundraiser at the sprawling mansion of designer Tory Burch last weekend.

Instead, they got soaked to the bone when Burch's sprinkler system went off.

PageSix.com reports that as the Democratic presidential frontrunner rose to speak to the wealthy mass of movers and shakers — including Anna Wintour, Martha Stewart and Donna Karan — water started pouring down.

"It was really very funny. Tory's home is gorgeous.... Everything was perfect. There were so many impeccably turned-out fashion people there. Anna Wintour looked like she could have been cut out of her own magazine: beautiful summer dress, not a hair out of place," one guest told the website about the Southampton soiree.

"Anna introduced Hillary, a wonderful introduction, moving enough to make a grown man cry. Then, all of a sudden the sprinkler system went off, and those who were on the lawn got soaked. You could hear some people screaming."

"These perfect Hamptons people can withstand 100 percent humidity, but a really good sprinkler system did the trick to ruin their hair."

Clinton quickly herded her wet supporters — who shelled out $1,000 and $2,700 for the event — to the patio and delivered her speech.
