Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, isn't a Nine Inch Nails fan and said Friday he didn't drink all of the band's beer.

Cruz was responding to a story earlier in the week in which the industrial rock band's frontman Trent Reznor said he declined Cruz a VIP ticket to a recent concert. Reznor also claimed Cruz attended a past Nine Inch Nails concert and indulged himself with the band's alcohol.

"To all the gullible reporters who are 'reporting' that I asked to be on the guest list at a Nine Inch Nails concert: uh, no, NIN is not my music taste. He was clearly joking. And for the record, I also didn't 'drink all his beer' the last time...but I would have! #FakeNews," Cruz tweeted.

Reznor's comments were reported by the New York Daily News.

"He was bugging to get on the guest list, and I told him to f—k off," Reznor told the crowd at a Tuesday concert.

Reznor then asked the crowd for a show of hands of who voted for Cruz in the midterm election earlier this month, which Cruz won over Rep. Beto O'Rourke.

Regarding Cruz's alleged attendance at a past show, Reznor said, "He ... drank all the beer, and was just a pain in the ass to be around."
