"The fact is that New York City is a No. 1 terrorist target and transportation is their favorite way of targeting," Casale said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on

Last week, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi told reporters at the United Nations that Iraqi intelligence had uncovered a plot by the Islamic State (ISIS) against subway systems in the United States and in Paris.
That report has been met with skepticism, and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio insisted there was "no immediate credible threat" to the subways.
Casale, founder of the private investigation firm Casale Associates, said, "It doesn't really matter if it was timely founded or not founded, we have to be prepared. The question is, how long do we stand at a heightened sense of readiness?
"In 1997 and in 2009, attacks were foiled that were going to target the New York City subway system. We've seen an increase in patrols by both New York and New Jersey at airports, bridges, tunnels, and subway and rail facilities. It is always a potential target."
