Thursday night's dueling town halls put the differences in how the media treat President Donald Trump and Democrat nominee Joe Biden on "full display," House Minority Whip Steve Scalise said Friday.
"In the Trump town hall, (NBC's Savannah Guthrie) was yelling at the president, not letting him answer questions," the Louisiana Republican said on Fox Business' "Mornings With Maria."
But in the ABC town hall for Biden, with moderator George Stephanopoulos, the former vice president was getting "softball after softball," said Scalise. However, he wasn't asked anything about the "major scandal of the week," which is Facebook and Twitter not allowing the New York Post's article "that exposed the corruption in China between Hunter Biden and Joe Biden."
Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, was also on Friday's program, to comment on the debate, and was asked if he wants to see Democrats stack the Supreme Court.
"I don't think that is necessarily appropriate, but we haven't had that conversation," Ryan responded to show host Maria Bartiromo. "Like Joe Biden said afterward, there are reforms we should talk about with the Supreme Court."
He also said that Republicans are pushing for their Supreme Court nominee when people are ready to be evicted from their homes and worse because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Scalise retorted that there are many people in Ryan's state and elsewhere who would love more paycheck protection money and other benefits, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is blocking the bill
Further, he said, Joe Biden clearly wants to pack the Supreme Court, and won't answer questions about his intentions.
"He won't answer the question means he wants to pack the court, just like fracking in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and any other state," said Scalise. "He says he is against the Green New Deal but (it) is on his website."
