Sarah Palin says that her new program on the Sportsman Channel will "highlight the freedom we get to experience in America."

In a 30-second promo for the new show — "Amazing America With Sarah Palin" — Alaska's former Republican governor asks the nation to "get red, wild and blue" as the channel itself describes her as "the first lady of the outdoors."

Palin, the 2008 vice presidential candidate, announced the promo on Twitter on Tuesday:

The spot was posted to the Sportsman Channel's YouTube account on Monday.

The weekly series premieres on April 3 at 8 p.m.

In a release published in December, the Sportsman Channel described Palin's program as "an anthology of stories that explore some of the most original, interesting — and sometimes inspiring — people, places and pastimes connected to America’s outdoors lifestyle."

Palin, who announced her own"Rogue TV" digital video channel last week, scored a big hit with her previous reality show, "Sarah Palin's Alaska" for The Learning Channel.

The program
, which ran during the 2010-2011 season, attracted nearly 5 million viewers for its premiere, the largest in the channel's history.
