Roseanne Barr says the highly-anticipated reboot of her smash sitcom "Roseanne" will show her character supporting President Donald Trump.
And so will her husband Dan Connor, played by John Goodman — support that will pit the pair against some members of their family.
"So I feel like half the people voted for Trump and half didn't, so it's just realistic," she said at a Television Critics Association panel on Monday, The Wrap reports.
"I've always attempted to portray a realistic portrait of the American people and the working class people. And, in fact, it was working class people who elected Trump. So I felt like, yeah, that was very real, and something that needed to be discussed."
"Roseanne" ran on ABC from 1988, to May 20, 1997 and became the most watched show on TV for two of those years. A revival featuring the original cast will premiere on March 27.
Barr said the show will look at "polarization in the family … people actually hating other people for the way they voted." Which, she added, is "not American."
Barr said that personally, "I'm not a Trump apologist. There are a lot of things he's said and done that I don't agree with."
