Geraldo Rivera says he hopes Vice President Mike Pence’s prediction that the worst of the coronavirus crisis will be behind the U.S. by Memorial Day is correct.
Rivera made his comments in a Friday morning tweet.
“If—as @VP tells me on our radio interview this morning—the worst is behind us & entire epidemic will be largely behind us by Memorial Day—less than a month away. It’s @realDonaldTrump Administration’s most optimistic projection. Mike Pence sticks his neck out-Hope he’s right," he wrote.
Fox News reported that Rivera had asked Pence: “Am I going to be on my boat fishing in early June, Mr. Vice President?”
Pence responded: “If you look at the trends today, I think by Memorial Day weekend we will largely have this coronavirus epidemic behind us.”
And on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show, Pence said his prediction depends on Americans continuing their social distancing practices and, moreover, relies on the development of immunity.”
