Rasmussen Poll: 59 Say White House Knew about IRS Targeting

By    |   Tuesday, 23 July 2013 12:43 PM EDT

Almost 60 percent of Americans believe that it is somewhat likely that the president or his top aides were aware that conservative groups were being targeted by the IRS for heightened scrutiny, a new poll has found.

According to a Rasmussen Reports survey conducted July 20-21, 59 percent of likely voters said it was at least somewhat likely the president and top aides knew about the IRS abuses, including 38 percent who said it's very likely.

This compares to just 32 percent who consider it unlikely, and just 10 percent who say it's not at all likely.
