Conservative Christian televangelist Pat Robertson said Monday that he misses Ronald Reagan so much that he wishes he "would rise from the dead and come back" — saying the former president's belief in America and "foundational values" puts President Barack Obama to shame.
"I wish Reagan would rise from the dead and come back," Robertson said with a laugh on his CBN television show "The 700 Club."

Robertson said Obama doesn't come close to measuring up to Reagan, hailing the Gipper as "a great president."
"The biggest thing is Reagan just believed in America," Robertson said. "It was real simple. He believed in America, he believed in foundational values, and he wasn't ashamed to enunciate them."
In contrast, Robertson said, "the current president does not believe in America, he does not believe in the fundamental values. He's raised in a different environment entirely and his mentors have been leftists who don't really love this country, and that's where he grew up."
He took issue in particular with the
Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's former Chicago pastor who became a lightning rod in the 2008 election.
"If you listen to that pastor… for so many years, Sunday after Sunday after Sunday, ranting against America," Robertson said. "Well, Reagan didn't do that."
His comments were first posted by the organization
Right Wing Watch.
Robertson has been critical of Obama previously on his CBN show. In 2012, the preacher accused the president of being a "socialist" who "wants to destroy" the United States,
The Huffington Post has reported.
The remarks come just weeks after former New York City GOP Mayor
Rudy Giuliani declared at a private dinner that Obama's policy decisions and public remarks about terrorists show he doesn't love America.
