Mishaps at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Mishaps at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

By    |   Thursday, 28 November 2013 08:21 PM EST

A Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade volunteer was hurt when a cart riding below a 67-foot-long Buzz Lightyear balloon ran over her foot, the New York Daily News reported.

Keri O’Connell, 39, who was holding a line attached to the "Toy Story" balloon, was treated for a minor foot injury, The News reported.

The New York Police Department ordered 15 massive balloons in the annual parade flown at half the typical height due to winds gusting up to 43 mph.

The restriction may have contributed to another parade mishap, the newspaper reported; a 78-foot-long Spider-Man balloon was speared by a tree branch that deflated his left arm for most of the parade route.
