The son of former President Ronald Reagan on Monday defended President Donald Trump as blameless in the synagogue shootings in Pittsburgh where a gunman killed 11worshipers, saying the only one responsible is “the person who perpetrated the crime.”
In an interview on Newsmax TV’s “America Talks Live,” political commentator Michael Reagan recalled the tumultuous aftermath of the assassination attempt on his father on March 30, 1981 by deranged shooter John Hinckley.
“I remember saying ‘How in the hell did you guys let this happen with all the Secret Service around here,” Reagan said.

And one replied: “We train 24-7 to protect your father, yourself, your family. But there’s one thing we’ll never be able to [stop]— and that is the crazies,” Reagan recalled.
“Over the weekend on Saturday at that synagogue is the definition of what [he] was saying. The crazies, they're out there. You don't affix blame to anyone except the person who perpetrated the crime.”
Reagan noted Trump’s been the biggest supporter of Israel…. they’re blaming the president for everything and anything … trying to gain ground because the election is coming up.”
