Jon Stewart: Obama Invite to 'Eat Nachos,' Watch 'King Ralph'

Comedian Jon Stewart delivered a self-deprecating routine to address a report that he had visited President Barack Obama at the White House several times presumably to get him on side, Politico reported.

Politico reported on Tuesday that the Daily Show comic has had a disproportionate influence on administration policy during the Obama years, and the White House has proactively cultivated a personal relationship with him, including invitations on at least two occasions for private meetings.

Appearing on "The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore," Stewart entered the stage as "Senior Black Correspondent." Asked whether the meetings were secret, Stewart said, "I don't know if they were secret. I'm in the visitor log. And they took pictures of the meeting."

A doctored picture of Stewart and Obama sharing a milkshake appeared on the screen.

Stewart joked that at the meetings he and the president "Hang out. Eat nachos. Watch 'King Ralph.'"

Asked whether the president was trying to influence him, Stewart said, "I think that's what he was trying to do. Because I have a television show and we sometimes say stupid … things about him and his policies. So I'm pretty sure I was there because he's run out of people to watch 'King Ralph' with."
