Despite encouraging Americans to stay home, Ivanka Trump and her husband ignored federal travel guidelines and visited New Jersey for Passover, according to The New York Times.
The president’s daughter and senior White House adviser has been advocating for social distancing to slow the spread of coronavirus.
But reports say Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, also a senior White House adviser, traveled with their three children to the Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey to celebrate the first night of Passover.
Federal guidelines advise against discretionary travel and the city of Washington issued a stay-at-home order on April 1 for all residents.
Kushner has since returned to the White House, but his wife has continued working from Bedminster, according to sources familiar with the family’s travel plans.
Trump has told people that the club is currently shut down, making it more socially distant than her home in the Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, The New York Times reports.
