Two years after purchasing a winning lottery ticket, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala can finally cash in.
According to CBS Atlanta, Tony Cua-Toc, who entered the country illegally in 2000, purchased the ticket back in 2010.
Issues arose when Cua-Toc’s boss, Erick Cervantes, claimed the winnings for himself because Cervantes reportedly gave Cua-Toc, 27, the $20 used to buy the ticket.
A jury from a Houston County Superior Court ruled in favor of Cua-Toc Thursday.
According to The Mason Telegraph, Cua-Toc will receive the $750,000 in winnings plus $207,000 in attorney’s fees.
