U.S. hospitals are shouldering an unprecedented financial strain, forcing layoffs and in some cases even bankruptcies, due to sky-high coronavirus costs – all at the very moment their health care services are needed most.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports 43,000 jobs in healthcare vanished in March. Those healthcare job losses are reportedly getting worse.
