Oscar-winner Helen Mirren has taken a swat at Ivanka Trump, saying the first daughter's promotion of female empowerment rings false.
Zeroing in on Ivanka's advice book, "Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success," Mirren, a longtime critic of President Donald Trump, told Allure Magazine:
"[Ivanka] talks a good game, but there's no substance. Her book is so ignorant about how the majority of women live, talking about ‘Make time for yourself to have a massage.' Puh-lease."
The British-born star and noted feminist, whose films include "The Queen" and "Gosford Park," also took on Melania Trump whom she has called one of the "few old dinosaurs left."
"You look at old Mel there, and she is one of the most powerful women in the world because she could take him down. She almost did that with the hand," Mirren told the mag, referring to Melania's swatting away of her husband's hand in Israel last May.
Mirren, 72, also said of the Trump administration: "It's a bit like watching a car crash. There is a sort of mesmerizing horror — it's why we love horror films."
