Conservative columnist George Will has joined MSNBC and NBC News as a contributor, according to Politico.
The Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for The Washington Post had been a contributor for Fox News until the network did not renew his contract in January. Before his tenure at Fox News began in 2013, he was a contributor at ABC for three decades, Politico reported.
Since January, he has appeared more frequently on MSNBC, and the contributor deal makes his appearances official, Politico reports.
In June 2016, Will announced he was leaving the Republican Party because of Donald Trump's controversial comments about a judge with Mexican heritage and House Speaker Paul Ryan's endoresment of him.
"After Trump went after the 'Mexican' judge from northern Indiana and then [Speaker] Paul Ryan [R-Wis.] endorsed him, I decided that in fact this was not my party anymore," he said on "Fox News Sunday," according to The Hill.
