The Hill political news outlet is finding popularity on social media, leading in Facebook engagement among political news sites.

Data released by Crowdtangle, a Facebook partner, shows that from May 16-June 15, The Hill had 52 percent more Facebook "likes," "shares" and "comments" than The Washington Post and six more times than Politico.

It is also leading the National Journal and Roll Call, according to a statement released by the group.

On Facebook, The Hill this week had almost 995,000 likes, comments and shares, more than double the number given to the Post and over 450,000 more than the Post, Politico, the Journal and Roll Call put together.

The figures reflect a 438.99 percent rate of growth in Facebook referrals in the past year, The Hill said.
