De Blasio: Homeless Policy 'Will Take Years' to Complete

By    |   Sunday, 20 December 2015 07:54 PM EST

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio says his plan to help the city's homeless won't solve the problem overnight.

The program, announced last week, is "the biggest outreach effort that probably any American city has mounted to reach the homeless and try to get them off the street – but also to create the ability to know what each individual needs to turn their life around," de Blasio told host John Catsimatidis Sunday on "The Cats Roundtable" on AM 970 in New York, http://am970theanswer.com/Shows/L3521 "It will take years."

The program https://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/homeless-new-york-de/2015/12/19/id/706509/ will deploy outreach teams to homeless populations to try to persuade them to go to shelters rather than living on the streets.
