It probably won't trigger a run on ground beef at your local supermarket, but Chris Christie says President Donald Trump forced him to order the meatloaf during a private lunch at the White House, raving that it was "fabulous."
During a Thursday appearance on WFAN Radio's "Boomer & Carton Show," Christie said Trump had invited him and his wife Mary Pat to dine on Tuesday night, but quickly banged the gavel as to what he would be eating.
''This is what it's like to be with Trump. He says, 'There's the menu, you guys order whatever you want.' And then he says, 'Chris, you and I are going to have the meatloaf," Christie told Carton.
Trump then turned pitchman to make sure Christie was on the same plate, er, page, in what he would be served.
"I'm telling you, the meatloaf is fabulous," Christie said Trump assured him.
Christie's wife, however, apparently wasn't sold on Trump's enthusiasm — she asked for a serving of pumpkin ravioli.
No word on whether Trump had any dessert recommendations.
