California Gov. Gavin Newsom and other state officials used photos and large fonts on briefing materials to update President Donald Trump on the wildfires that have destroyed more than 3 million acres this year.
As Business Insider noted, the materials used to brief Trump were large images of the fires and the destruction they have caused and words printed in large fonts and all capitals.
Elex Michaelson of Fox LA obtained a copy of the briefing materials and posted them on Twitter. They included phrases such as "10 OF THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES WERE IN THE LAST 5 YEARS" and a graphic labeled "CALIFORNIA AVERAGE TEMPERATURE JUNE - SEPTEMBER."
It's been reported that Trump is not receptive to briefing materials that are mostly written and that he pays more attention to photos and charts.
Trump and the California officials briefly sparred over whether climate change is the root cause of the wildfires before they moved to the next topic of discussion during Monday's briefing.
