Poll: Most Americans See Country on Wrong Track

By    |   Thursday, 10 March 2011 02:09 PM EST

The Obama administration may be trumpeting an economic rebound, but average Americans apparently don’t agree. Just 14 percent of those surveyed in a new Bloomberg poll think a recovery is under way and that the economy is steadily improving, Politico reports.

Nearly half (49 percent) of respondents say the recovery is “fragile” and reversible, and 37 percent see the economy as still in recession. Officially, the recession ended in June 2009.

And 63 percent of Americans view the country as on the wrong track, while only 28 percent see it headed in the right direction. Almost half (49 percent) of Americans say they are worse off than two years ago, while only 39 percent say they are better off.
