Veteran comedian Bill Cosby, under fire after a host of women have accused him of allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting them, has issued a statement noting his current tour will continue, even as several previous dates have been canceled by venue managers amid backlash fears, EOnline reported.

"Dear Fans: I have thousands of loyal, patient and courageous fans that are going to leave their homes to enjoy an evening of laughter and return home feeling wonderful. I’m ready!" Cosby said in a statement addressing his current North American comedy tour.

"I thank you, the theater staff, the event organizers and the Colorado Community for your continued support and coming to experience fun entertainment," said Cosby, 77, who has persisted in spite of hecklers and protesters who have expressed outrage after women have publicly claimed they have been victims of sexual assaults going back several decades.

Cosby added, invoking his Fat Albert character's trademark line: "Hey, Hey, Hey — I'm far from finished."

Cosby's longtime wife, Camille, and several former cast members of his famed "Cosby Show" television family have defended him, including Raven-Symone, who played his daughter, and his TV wife Phylicia Rashad, who played matriarch Clair Huxtable.
