Actress Bette Midler is catching blowback after a Thursday tweet that suggested Sen. Rand Paul's neighbor should attack him again.
Midler was ostensibly reacting to Paul's speech on the Senate floor that delayed a vote on the funding bill that eventually passed early Friday. Paul was able to briefly shut down the government while proffering an amendment to a spending bill that he and other Republicans criticized for running up the deficit.
Paul was injured in November when his Kentucky neighbor crushed him in a blindside tackle that resulted in cracked ribs and a lung contusion.
Rene Boucher admitted to attacking Paul and faces 21 months in prison.
Sen. Paul aide Sergio Gor took Midler to task:
Fox News reached out to Midler's camp for comment but never heard back.
