“The Flash,” CW’s spinoff of its popular show “Arrow,” got a new cast member this week in Robbie Amell, who is the cousin of “Arrow” star Stephen Amell.
“The Flash” will focus on Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin, and his super-quick alter-ego. The show also stars Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, the fiancée of Amell’s character Ronnie Raymond, also known as half of DC Comics’ Firestorm.

Amell was previously on the CW show “The Tomorrow People,” which was canceled after 22 episodes.
Stephen Amell posted on Facebook Wednesday welcoming his cousin to the DC universe.
“Arrow” is based on the story of the Green Arrow and has enjoyed wide success as it heads into its third season this October.
“The Flash” will premiere Oct. 7; “Arrow” returns Oct. 8.
“Arrow” recently added its own new cast member in former Superman
Brandon Routh, who will play Ray Palmer, aka The Atom.
