July 11, 2023: Forty-one percent (41%) of voters know that nearly 20% of America's electricity today is generated by nuclear power plants. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that, when told this is the case, 52% favor a plan to double nuclear energy generation over the next 10 years.

The survey also found that 55% favor significant investment in public-private partnerships to accelerate the growth of nuclear energy capacity and double the amount of clean, reliable energy. Just 25% oppose this investment, and 20% are not sure.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on June 26-27, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc.

Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation's population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
