May 3, 2022: Forty-six percent (46%) of voters believe that passengers should decide for themselves whether to wear masks on planes. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 26% believe airlines should make rules for their flights, and 23% believe the federal government should set the rules.
The survey also found that 49% of voters think the Biden administration should allow the mask mandate to expire. Thirty-seven percent (37%) believe the administration should appeal the ruling that overturned that mask mandate, and 14% are not sure.
Methodology
The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on April 21-23, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
