According to a World Tribune report:
A prominent Arab daily, the London-based A-Sharq Al Awsat, reported on Wednesday that the United States has sent experts from top U.S. laboratories to examine the seized material in Bulgaria.
The government in Sofia has been cooperating with Washington in cracking down of such exports of Russian-produced nuclear-bomb material from the former Soviet Union.
It notified the United States when Bulgarian customs officials discovered the uranium May 29 in the possession of a Turkish national identified as Hani Yukazan, who then provided information on the channel being used to supply countries in the Middle East.
The Central Intelligence Agency has warned that in the absence of United Nations inspectors Iraq is believed to have resumed its nuclear-weapons and missile programs.
